Content Methodology

The GAMMA Method

Five questions, asked before writing anything.

GAMMA is a content methodology for getting AI and human writing on-brief, on-voice, and built to survive review. Before a single sentence is drafted, five questions are answered — and those answers do the work of a creative brief.

The Method

Five questions

01

Goal

What this piece of writing has to accomplish.

02

Audience

Who it's for and what they care about.

03

Message

The one thing they should take away.

04

Motivation

Why they should care or act.

05

Action

What they should do next.

Goal · Audience · Message · Motivation · Action

The core distinction

Tone modifies register, not voice.

Most AI content fails because tone instructions overwrite the brand's voice. GAMMA separates the two, so output stays on-brand while adapting to the situation.

Co-developed with John Freedman while both were at Symantec.
